This class is intended for: beginners with the software, experienced familiarity of Apple or Windows OS, for creative types, website builders, print/publishing, personal or professional use.
About the Instructor:
Dan Cooney is a freelance illustrator with over twenty-seven years of professional experience. His areas of expertise are 2D illustration in comics and graphic novels using Adobe Suite, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as editing and graphic design for marketing and publication. After graduating from The School of Visual Arts in New York, Cooney worked as a corporate graphic designer for Tower Records, editing images and creating graphics for advertising in print and web media in Rollinstone, billboards, newspapers, concert programs, POP merch, and promotional materials. Cooney's experience in graphic design and illustration fueled his instructional aspirations to become a full-time instructor at the Academy of Art in San Francisco's Illustration Department, teaching visual narrative in traditional and digital creation methods, writing for comics, and the history of cartooning. He is originally from Sacramento and lives full-time on Martha's Vineyard with his two sons.
