Launch your own website this winter! Embark on a transformative 6-week journey to turn your online vision into reality. Tailored for entrepreneurs with existing businesses or those eager to explore new concepts, ventures, or showcase portfolios, this hands-on course is your key to creating a stunning Squarespace website.
We’ll begin with the fundamentals of connecting your domain, setting up your site and drafting your design. You’ll learn how to create dynamic layouts, add copy and content, create forms, optimize the site for mobile & refine the SEO to improve your websites' visibility.
Each class will be a combination of live demonstrations with hands-on working time, empowering you to exercise and reinforce your learning. Come prepared with a preliminary idea of your website's services and a general concept of the copy and content you wish to include.
By the course's end, not only will you launch your own website, but you'll also be equipped with the knowledge to make changes and updates on your own!
Squarespace is best suited for professional services, portfolios, blogs, and nonprofits.
Student expectation:
Basic computer skills are a prerequisite, and students should arrive with a general idea of their website goals, from business name to content. While the course provides support for copywriting and content optimization, students will be expected to bring some developed materials for their website.
Outcome of the class: a live website
Important note
To participate, you will need to set up a Squarespace subscription, which will be done during the first class (price ranges from $200-300 for the year depending on subscription type). A laptop is required for class participation; bring your own or contact Sonja at sonja@acemv.org with concerns.
